    Durante los siglos XVIII y XIX, el bandolerismo fue uno de los hechos más significativos y de mayor auge en la sociedad española del momento. También fue una de las imágenes más representativas de la España romántica, aunque lejos de la violenta realidad, la literatura o la pintura reflejaron la visión del bandolero como un héroe popular, siguiendo el típico lema de Robar al rico para darle lo robado al pobre.

    Durint the 18th and 19th centuries, banditry was one of the most significant facts, booming in the Spanish society of the time. It was also one of the most representative images of romantic Spain, although, far from the violent reality, literature and painting depicted a vision of the bandit as a hero of the people, following the typical saying: stealing the rich to give to the poor.
