A new species of the genus Ginkgophyllum (Saporta) Neuburg is described. The fossil remains, preserved as impressions, were collected from the Río Genoa Formation, in West Chubut Province, Argentina. They include deeply wedge-shaped leaves, dichotomized up to five times, with one vein per each leaf segment. These leaves are compared with species of Ginkgophyllum and other similar genera present in Gondwana. The material is exclusive of the earliest Permian, Nothorhacopteris chubutiana Biozone.
