Resumen de “Estudo, trabalho, fuzil” e rock em Cuba: a música dos Beatles no Noticiero Icaic Latinoamericano (1965-1972)

  In this paper, we seek to understand the significance, from a cultural and political point of view, of the presence of the Beat-les' music in Noticiero Icaic Latino-americano in a context of restrictions on the dissemination of rock music in Cuba, at the same time that the youth protago-nism was flourishing and the cultural products aimed at youth were proving to be indispensable, to the Cuban govern-ment, to stimulate political engagement and the formation of the “new man”. Through the research and analysis of the soundtrack of several editions from the period between 1965 and 1972, marked by Beatlemania, we reflect on the use of songs, in their multiple formats and ver-sions, demonstrating the different roles that the music assumes, when combined with the visual material, in dialogue with the bibliography on the subject. We aim to demonstrate how this polysemic musical score, sometimes permeated with ambigui-ty, sometimes with explicit political dis-course, allows us to explore the potentiali-ty of Noticiero as a historical source of the Cuban Revolution, so marked by searches, clashes, and challenges.

  Neste artigo buscamos compreender os significados, do ponto de vista cultural e político, da presença da música dos Beatles no Noticiero Icaic Latinoamericanoem um contexto de restrições à difusão do rock em Cuba, ao mesmo tempo em que o protagonismo juvenil florescia e os produtos culturais destinados à ju-ventude se mostravam indispensáveis, ao governo cubano, para o estímulo ao engajamento político e à formação do “homem novo”. Por meio do levanta-mento e análise da trilha musical de várias edições do período entre 1965 e 1972, marcado pela beatlemania, refle-timos sobre o uso das canções, em seus múltiplos formatos e versões, demons-trando os diferentes papéis que a músi-ca assume, ao se combinar ao material visual. Em diálogo com a bibliografia sobre o tema, procuramos evidenciar como essa polissêmica trilha musical, ora permeada de ambiguidade, ora de explícito discurso político, permite ex-plorar a potencialidade do Noticierocomo fonte histórica da Revolução Cu-bana, tão marcada por buscas, embates e desafios.
