  Esta reseña aborda la obra de Samuel Jouault -geógrafo- sobre el proceso de turistifica-ción en el traspaís de Cancún-Riviera Maya. Se apuntan las fortalezas del método uti-lizado para la investigación, su importancia para futuros investigadores -antropólogos, geógrafos, especialistas en turismo- interesados en el amplio tema del turismo y los alcances de la investigación al centrarse en los actores locales.

  This review deals with the work of Samuel Jouault -geographer- on the touristification process in the hinterland of Cancun-Riviera Maya. The strengths of the method used for the research are pointed out, its importance for future researchers -anthropologists, geographers, tourism specialists- interested in the broad theme of tourism and the scope of the research by focusing on local actors.
