La letra del himno de la Armada española, en la que se omite el ensalzamiento a la «Felicísima» respecto a otros hechos significativos (victorias o derrotas) de la historia bélica marítima de España, inspira este trabajo, orientado hacia los juicios que, emitidos desde el siglo xix por integrantes de las Fuerzas Armadas, conforman la huella que dejó la experiencia de la «Armada Invencible » en el colectivo militar contemporáneo español.

The lyrics of the Spanish Navy’s anthem, which omit the exaltation of the «Felicísima» with respect to other significant events (victories or defeats) of the maritime war history of Spain, inspire this work, oriented towards judgments which, issued by components of the Armed Forces since the 19th century, make up the mark left by the experience of the «Invincible Armada» in the contemporary Spanish military collective.
