This study investigated the effects of an organized vs. a disorganized speech, the subject's need for order, the sex of the source and the sex of the rater on the organization trait error. Results indicate: (a) Organized speeches received more positive trait errors than did unorganized speeches, (b) Males who have a high need for order give more positive trait errors on organization than do males with a low need for order and females with a high need for order, (c) Male sources received more positive trait errors on organization than did female sources. Implications of these findings for the area of instructional development are discussed.
