    El artículo describe el contexto del crimen y la violencia en la América Hispana el año 2020 y 2021, así como la implementación de la metodología CPTED tanto de primera, segunda y tercera generación, enfocándose en una herramienta diagnóstica CPTED conocida en la América Hispana cómo la Nube de los Sueños que es participativa y le da voz tanto a niños como a niñas en la Región de la Latinoamérica y el Caribe respecto a sus preferencias y necesidades ambientales y posibilidades de intervención urbana. Por otro lado, se enfatiza la relevancia de la participación comunitaria en el ciclo de proyectos de CPTED de acuerdo a los planteado en la nueva ISO CPTED Standard 22341:2021. También se describe también la estructura del taller de la Nube de los Sueños CPTED, sus principales hitos históricos desde su inicio en el año 2006 hasta nuestros días y los tipos de información que se obtienen de su aplicación. Por último, se concluye vinculando la Nube de los Sueños con la tercera generación de la metodología CPTED que recién esta iniciando desde el año 2019.

    The article describes the context of crime and violence in Hispanic America in 2020 and 2021, as well as the implementation of the first, second and third generation CPTED methodology, focusing on a CPTED diagnostic tool known in Hispanic America as the Cloud of Dreams that is participatory and gives a voice to both boys and girls in the Latin American and Caribbean Region regarding their environmental preferences and needs and possibilities for urban intervention. On the other hand, the relevance of community participation in the CPTED project cycle is emphasized in accordance with those proposed in the new ISO CPTED Standard 22341: 2021. The structure of the CPTED Cloud of Dreams workshop is also described, as well as the main historical milestones from its inception in 2006 to the present day, and the types of information obtained from its application. Finally, it is concluded by linking the Cloud of Dreams with the third generation of the CPTED methodology that has just started since 2019.
