Resumen de La fábula ecuatoriana: Lo moral y lo ideológico

El ensayo se centra en discutir el carácter ideológico de la fábula ecuatoriana, más allá del orden moral a la que se adscribe. Intentando además establecer una historia de la fábula ecuatoriana desde el siglo XVIII hasta la primera parte del siglo XX, es decir, la fábula fundacional y su inicial desarrollo, se analiza cómo esta fue instrumento de crítica y de reflexión sobre la realidad social y política de la nación emergente. La preocupación de los fabulistas es combatir la amenaza del liberalismo al orden social instituido o alertar a los lectores acerca del cambio de costumbres insistiendo en la adopción de criterios para que la familia o el matrimonio, la mujer y los hijos no puedan ser absorbidos por las dinámicas del liberalismo que trataba de instalarse en Ecuador. Se concluye con que el carácter ideológico de las fábulas afianza un tipo de socialidad más bien conservadora.

The essay focuses on discussing the ideologicalcharacter of the Ecuadorian fable,beyond the moral order to which it is ascribed.Also trying to establish a history ofthe Ecuadorian fable from the eighteenthcentury to the first part of the twentiethcentury, that is, the foundational fable andits initial development, it is analyzed howthis was an instrument of criticism and reflectionon the social and political realityof the emerging nation. The concern of thefabulists is to combat the menace of liberalismto the established social order or alertreaders about the change in customs by insistingon the adoption of criteria so thatthe family or marriage, women and childrencannot be absorbed by the dynamicsof liberalism that tried to establish itself inEcuador. It is concluded that the ideologicalcharacter of the fables consolidates arather conservative type of sociality.
