Travel narratives are an important source of data about the history and culture of the lands visited. Therefore, the study of these narrations admits both a geographical-historical approach and a linguistic one. This paper offers an analysis of lexical items that belong to the Canarian variety of language present in French narrations from the 18th and early 19th centuries.
