Resumen de Segon registre d'Asensidea asensii Calzada, 2002 (Gastropoda), caragol continental del Miocè, a la Todolella (els Ports; NE península Ibèrica)

  Els estudis de gasteròpodes continentals no són molt freqüents, per contrast amb l'abundant bibliografia sobre els fòssils marins. A la comarca dels Ports l'única espècie de gasteròpode terrestre descrita fins ara és Asensidea asensii Calzada, 2002. Però des de la descripció original no s'havia tornat a retrobar. La troballa d'un nou jaciment en una nova localitat ha motivat la redacció d'aquesta nota. Tot i que el material recuperat consisteix en motlles interns, sense cap resta de conquilla, que ha estat dissolta per processos tafonòmics, s'ha pogut classificar l'espècie per la seua forma característica, troquiforme, les mesures indicades al treball original, la fauna d'acompanyament i la continuïtat de l'aflorament. El nou jaciment se situa a uns 6 Km en línia recta de la localitat tipus del mas de Mateu (Olocau del Rey, els Ports). S'ha precisat l'adscripció administrativa de la localitat tipus. S'ha actualitzat la sistemàtica paleontològica, d'acord a les aportacions recents. S'ha ampliat la distribució geogràfica de l'espècie amb el nou jaciment de l'assagador de les Refoies (la Todolella, els Ports) i es diposita material en un altre museu de proximitat. S'apunta la conveniència de realitzar noves prospeccions al Miocè continental de Terol a la recerca de més localitats d'A. asensii.

  Studies of continental gastropods are not very common, in contrast to the extensive bibliography on marine fossils. In the Ports region, the only terrestrial gastropod species described so far is Asensidea asensii Calzada, 2002. However, since its original description, it has not been found again. The discovery of a new site in a new locality has motivated the writing of this note. Although the material recovered consists of internal molds and lacks any shell remains, which would have been dissolved by taphonomic processes, it has been possible to classify the species by its characteristic trochiform shape, the measurements indicated in the original work, the accompanying fauna and the continuity of the outcrop. The new site is located about 6 km as the crow flies from the type locality of the Mas de Mateu (Olocau del Rey, els Ports). The administrative designation of the type locality has been specified. The paleontological system has been updated taking into account recent contributions. The geographical distribution of the species has been expanded with the new site of the assagador (livestock route) de les Refoies (la Todolella, els Ports) and material has been deposited in another nearby museum. The desirability of carrying out new surveys in the continental Miocene of Teruel in search of more localities of A. asensii is pointed out.
