    El presente trabajo tiene por objeto realizar un recorrido por las distintas etapas de la política energética de la Unión Europea y los grandes objetivos que han guiado a cada una de ellas con el propósito de aportar algunas reflexiones con respecto a la evolución del equilibrio del «trilema energético» durante dichas etapas y las posibilidades de que dispone la Unión para mejorar ese equilibrio.

    The purpose of this paper is to take the reader through the different stages of the European Union's energy policy and the major objectives that have guided each of them, with the purpose of providing some reflections regarding the evolution of the balance of the energy trilemma during these stages and the possibilities available to the Union to improve that balance.
