Resumen de Ética, ciencia e investigación: el rol del investigador en el contexto actual

  El artículo, desarrollado bajo un enfoque hermenéutico-documental, tiene por objetivo reflexionar acerca de la vinculación existente entre la ética, la ciencia y la investigación en el contexto actual. Si bien se reconoce que es una temática que no es propia del siglo XXI, sus conceptos, problemas y temáticas abordadas no pierden vigencia, sino que continúan siendo un desafío para la discusión transversal en ciencias sociales, filosofía, ciencias naturales, bioética, entre otras disciplinas. En virtud de lo anterior, la investigación centra su interés en las siguientes cuestiones fundamentales: 1. La relación entre ética y ciencia, considerando la ciencia como actividad destinada para el progreso humano y a la ética como disciplina filosófica que evalúa el accionar humano ante contextos específicos. 2. Los principios éticos de la investigación, que abogan por la integridad, el respeto, la beneficencia y la justicia en los procesos de investigación científica, lo que garantiza esta esté orientada hacia el bien común. 3. La ética del investigador, que reconoce el papel fundamental del investigador dentro de la sociedad, dado que los productos desarrollados inciden en diversos ámbitos, pudiendo ser beneficiosos o perjudiciales para la sociedad. Se concluye en la relevancia de la ética para la conducción de la investigación científica y del investigador, en tanto sus determinaciones permiten la permanencia de valores adecuados a las demandas sociales.

  This paper, developed under a hermeneutic-documentary approach, aims to reflect on the existing link between ethics, science and research in the current context. Although it is recognized that it is a topic that is not typical of the 21st century, its concepts, problems and topics addressed do not lose validity, but are a challenge for cross-cutting discussion in social sciences, philosophy, natural sciences, bioethics, among other disciplines. By virtue of the foregoing, the research focuses its interest on the following fundamental questions: 1. The relationship between ethics and science, considering science as an activity aimed at human progress and ethics as a philosophical discipline that evaluates human actions in specific contexts. 2. The ethical principles of research, which advocate integrity, respect, beneficence and justice in scientific research processes, which guarantees that it is oriented towards the common good. 3. The ethics of the researcher, which recognizes the fundamental role of the researcher within society, given that the products developed affect various environments, and may be beneficial or harmful to society. It concludes on the relevance of ethics for the conduct of scientific research and the researcher, insofar as its determinations allow the permanence of values appropriate to social demands.
