    Sobre el linaje de Los Pacheco de Ciudad Rodrigo se saben muchas cosas.

    Todos los historiadores locales aluden a ellos en algún momento y su protagonismo en la vida local está confirmado por las fuentes y por la historiografía. Sin embargo aún no conocemos muchas cosas relevantes, mientras otras bordean la leyenda y aún persisten algunas inexactitudes que es ya hora de corregir.

    En este trabajo se aborda la génesis del linaje en Ciudad Rodrigo, su progresión, el enorme patrimonio que fueron capaces de reunir, su árbol genealógico completo desde los orígenes hasta el marquesado y las alianzas matrimoniales que fueron capaces de tejer para llegar a su encumbramiento a las más altas esferas nobiliarias y a un relevante papel en la Corte.

    As it is already known, we all have knowledge about the line of Los Pachecos of Ciudad Rodrigo. Every local historian refers to them in some moments and their prominence is reinforced by different sources and historiography. However, we still face many gaps in knowledge because we do not know many relevant data yet.

    Some details are confused with legends and some inaccuracies still persist. Thus, it is time to check them.

    This work deals with the genesis of the lineage in Ciudad Rodrigo, its progression and the huge heritage which they were able to get. Also, this work tackles the genealogical tree since the origins to the marquisate, as well as the matrimonial alliances which they were able to hatch in order to achieve their concealment in the very highest levels of the nobility and to get an outstanding role in the Court.
