  En la filosofía política hegeliana la idea de "sociedad civil" adquiere un matiz distinto a como era propuesto por la doctrina jusnaturalista y la ilustración escocesa, sobre todo por Adam Ferguson. Dado el sistema filosófico de Hegel, el lugar de la sociedad civil se encuentra en el espacio de la "eticidad", como el espacio de plena contingencia en la cual las conciencias están solas. La "eticidad" representa el momento institucional en el cual el Estado y las familias tienen cupo, pero el momento preciso de la sociedad civil se encuentra en la disociación institucional. Así que la sociedad civil es un momento en el que deviene la libertad del individuo, que busca superar la contingencia y el conflicto mediante la intersubjetividad: este lugar es el mercado. La sociedad civil es un momento ético en el que la libertad es practicada en el mercado como mecanismo para conciliar las conciencias y superar el conflicto y la contingencia.

  In the hegelian political philosophy the idea of "civil society" acquires a shade different from as he were proposed by the jusnaturalista doctrine and the Scottish illustration, mainly by Adam Ferguson. Given the philosophical system of Hegel, the place of the civil society is in the space of the "ethnicity", like the space of total contingency in which the consciences are single. The "ethnicity" represents the institutional moment at which the State and the families have fitted, but the precise moment of the civil society is in the institutional disassociation. So the civil society is a little while in which the freedom of the individual happens, that it looks for to surpass the contingency and the conflict by means of the intersubjectivity: this place is the market. The civil society is a little while ethical in which the freedom is practiced in the market like mechanism to conciliate the consciences and to surpass the conflict and the contingency.
