Traitement lexicographique d’emplois polémiques :les trois stades d’intégration d’endonymes1 autochtones en français du Québec

    There are currently eleven Aboriginal nations on Quebec territory, and they are all, to varying degrees, in the process of reclaiming their identity. In this article, we present the evolution of the ethnonyms of some nations according to three stages of integration: the adoption of the name chosen by each nation, the adoption of the spelling of each of the native languages and the respect of each of the grammars of these languages. We analyze how all its possibilities coexist in French in the Quebec space by presenting the position of some of the actors who guide the standard in Quebec (OQLF, dictionaries, media, etc.). Finally, we present the description of some cases according to the criteria of the Projet porc-épic, which proposes a new lexicographic treatment for polemical uses.

    On compte aujourd’hui onze nations autochtones sur le territoire québécois, et elles sont toutes, à des degrés divers, en processus de réappropriation de leur identité. Dans cet article, nous présentons l’évolution des ethnonymes de quelques nations en fonction de trois stades d’intégration : l’adoption du nom choisi par chaque nation, l’adoption de la graphie de chacune des langues autochtones et le respect de chacune des grammaires de ces langues. Nous analysons comment toutes ses possibilités cohabitent en français dans l’espace québécois en présentant la position de quelques-uns des acteurs qui orientent la norme au Québec (OQLF, dictionnaires, médias, etc.). Pour terminer, nous présentons la description de quelques cas en fonction des critères du Projet porc-épic, qui propose un nouveau traitement lexicographique pour les emplois polémiques.
