A presente pesquisa tem como objeto de análise o papel político da extinta União Democrática Nacional (UDN), enquanto partido representante da burguesia no Brasil, a partir da leitura teórica sobre as possíveis frações/divisões constitutivas desta classe e suas formas de representação política. A UDN teve importante atuação na história política brasileira no período pré-1964. Teve sua formação articulada ainda no período do Estado Novo, sendo fundada oficialmente em 1945 e extinguindo-se nos anos 1960.

The present research has as object of analysis the political role of the extinct União Democrática Nacional (UDN) as the representative party of the bourgeoisie in Brazil, through a theoretical reading on the possible constituting fractions/divisions of this class and its forms of political representation. The UDN played an important role in Brazilian political history in the pre-1964 period. Its creation was articulated during the Estado Novo era, being officially founded in 1945 and extinguished in the 1960s.
