The essay analyses the traditional issue concerning the theoretical categorisation of volunteering in the light of the 2017 regulations (cts and social enterprise), examining the cases in which unpaid labour may be allowed, the regulation of any donations received and suggesting the application of the rules on agency without authority to ensure continuity of the individual volunteering action.
