    En el presente trabajo se analizan una serie de ilustraciones españolas de «The Tell-Tale Heart» –uno de los cuentos de más éxito del escritor norteamericano Edgar Allan Poe– que, por su trascendencia, ha contribuido a generar modelos para otros ilustradores y artistas internacionales. La necesidad de estudiar estas obras gráficas se debe a que, a pesar de que Poe es uno de los autores más ilustrados de la literatura, existen muy pocas investigaciones que centren su atención en este aspecto, sobre todo en lo que se refiere a las ilustraciones españolas.

    A través de este estudio, se reivindica la importancia de estas en el universo literario de Poe, por lo que se han seleccionado aquellas ilustraciones que, de un modo u otro, han aportado lecturas nuevas y han marcado la trayectoria ilustrada del cuento.

    In the present research, there will be analyzed a set of Spanish illustrations of Edgar Allan Poe’s «The Tell-Tale Heart», one of his most important tales. The Spanish images, because of its transcendence, have contributed to generate certain models that other international illustrators would later apply. The necessity of studying this pictorial works is due to there are not so many investigations that focus on this aspect of Poe’s Literary works, especially in which refers to Spanish illustrations in the author’s universe. The main goal of this research is to revendicate the importance of Spanish artists in Poe’s Literature, so there have been selected the pictures that have apported new perspectives and have led the illustrated history of the tale
