    Marie-Joseph Lagrange, Pierre Batiffol y Henri Hyvernat, estudiosos de la Biblia, del cristianismo primitivo y de las lenguas antiguas, desarrollaron su labor investigadora y docente en lugares distintos: Lagrange en Jerusalén, Batiffol en Toulouse y en París, Hyvernat en Roma y en Washington; pero, aun así, estuvieron profundamente unidos durante toda su vida. ¿Cuál fue la circunstancia que los vinculó entre sí para siempre? El tiempo que pasaron juntos en el Seminario de Issy-les-Moulineaux. Fue durante el curso académico 1878-1879. Un año solamente. El hecho merece ser destacado. Unos meses de formación sacerdotal originaron una amistad íntima, cultivada después en la distancia geográfica, que perduró hasta el fin de sus días.

    Marie-Joseph Lagrange, Pierre Batiffol and Henri Hyvernat, scholars of the Bible, early Christianity and ancient languages, carried out their research and teaching work in different places: Lagrange in Jerusalem, Batiffol in Toulouse and Paris, Hyvernat in Rome and Washington; but, even so, they were deeply united throughout their lives. What was the circumstance that linked them together forever? The time they spent at the Seminary of Issy-les-Moulineaux. It was during the academic year 1878-1879. One year only. The fact deserves to be highlighted. A few months of priestly formation gave rise to an intimate friendship, later cultivated at a geographical distance, which lasted until the end of their days.
