  • Resumen
    • Silvio A. Bedini (1917–2007) was an award-winning American historian of science and technology who wrote between 20 and 30 books and more than 500 articles. He first became entranced by historical clocks and instruments while pursuing other careers and connected with historians including Bern Dibner and Derek J. De Solla Price. Price, Professor of History of Science and inaugural curator of scientific instruments at Yale, helped Bedini become a curator at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of History and Technology. The museum opened in 1964 and was later renamed the National Museum of American History. Bedini then became its Assistant Director and Deputy Director, before serving as Keeper of Rare Books at its Dibner Library from 1978 until his retirement in 1987.
