Resumen de Intervención educativa en el adulto con asociación de cáncer de mama y depresión

  En el vasto paisaje de la salud femenina, dos figuras imponentes emergen como titanes invisibles, pero inextricablemente unidos: el cáncer de mama y la depresión. El cáncer, una batalla física en las células, con su embate en la integridad física y en el sentido de la feminidad, desencadena una montaña de emociones que, en medio de procedimientos médicos y decisiones cruciales, encuentran una sombra profunda: la depresión. Es por esto, que se indaga este estudio de salud familiar, desentrañando cómo estas dos fuerzas impactan mutuamente la salud y el bienestar de las mujeres, resaltando las oportunidades para el apoyo integral y multidisciplinario que esta intrincada relación exige. Objetivo: Implementar una intervención educativa que se base en la evaluación tanto individual como familiar de una paciente que padece cáncer de mama y depresión. Metodología: Consistió en realizar un estudio de salud familiar en una paciente con Cáncer de mama, abordando la evaluación familiar en cuatro etapas. En la primera etapa se identificó al paciente, seguida por el estudio de la estructura familiar y la revisión del historial médico en la segunda etapa. En la tercera etapa se identificaron los riesgos para la salud familiar y se analizó la dinámica familiar. Por último, en la cuarta etapa del estudio de salud familiar, se aplicaron instrumentos de evaluación familiar y se desarrollaron intervenciones educativas siguiendo los enfoques de Doherty y Baird. Resultados: La intervención educativa, derivada de la evaluación integral de la familia y la implementación de planes de cuidado, generó un incremento significativo en la autoestima y participación familiar con la paciente, lo que tuvo como resultado una mejoría clínica, psicológica y sociocultural.

  In the vast landscape of women’s health, two towering figures emerge as invisible but inextricably linked titans: breast cancer and depression. Cancer, a physical battle in cells, with its assault on physical integrity and the sense of femininity, unleashes a mountain of emotions that, in the midst of medical procedures and crucial decisions, find a deep shadow: depression. For this reason, we will delve into this study of family health, unraveling how these two forces impact the health and well-being of women, highlighting the opportunities for comprehensive and multidisciplinary support that this intricate relationship requires. Objective: To implement an educational intervention based on both individual and family evaluation of a patient suffering from breast cancer and depression. Methodology: Consist of carrying out a family health study in a patient with breast cancer, addressing the family evaluation in four stages. In the first stage, the patient was identified, followed by the study of the family structure and the review of the medical history in the second stage. In the third stage, risks to family health were identified and family dynamics were analyzed. Finally, in the fourth stage of the family health study, family assessment instruments will be applied, and educational interventions will be developed following the Doherty and Baird approaches. Results: The educational intervention, derived from the integral evaluation of the family and the implementation of care plans, left a significant increase in self-esteem and family participation with the patient, which resulted in clinical, psychological, and sociocultural improvement.
