The posthumous work of Dean Ortiz (1739-1822) is an important part of all his literary production. After the death of his heir, Josefa Ortiz (widow of the engraver Tomás López Enguídanos), his older children tried to publish the main part of this posthumous work without succeeding; despite this, part of it was published in the 19th and 20th centuries, and another part still remains in manuscript. From the search for the posthumous work of Dean Ortiz and some personal memories about it, this essay is written.
