    El discurso doctoral de Vicente Boix tenía como objetivo dar a conocer la importancia de los escritores hebreos españoles formados en las academias persas, que con su conocimiento del árabe traducían textos en lengua árabe al castellano antiguo y de este al latín, y a través de esta lengua pudo llegar a ser conocido en el Occidente el pensamiento clásico griego y las aportaciones de musulmanes y judíos en las distintas ramas del saber: matemáticas, filosofía, medicina, astronomía entre otras. Siglos XI a XVII. En la última parte se repasa el contexto de sus obras con las corrientes europeas ligadas al protestantismo.

    The objective of Vicente Boix’s doctoral speech was to make known the importance of the Spanish Hebrew writers trained in the Persian academies, who with their knowledge of Arabic translated texts in the Arabic language into ancient Castilian and from this into Latin, and through this language it was able to make classical Greek thought and the contributions of Muslims and Jews in the different branches of knowledge known in the West: mathematics, philosophy, medicine, astronomy among others. 11th to 17th centuries. In the last part, the context of his works with the European currents linked to Protestantism is reviewed.
