Resumen de Uso del software libre (SL) en la educación: Oportunidad de empoderamiento profesional

  Este artículo, ofrece al lector un acercamiento general a la utilización del Software Libre (SL) en el ámbito educativo, partiendo de una definición y contextualización de éste último; enseguida, se presentan algunas claves para entender el concepto de “tecnología educativa”, educación de calidad y cómo lograrlo y finalmente se ofrecen al lector algunas estrategias en Tecnologías de Información (TI) que pueden ser fácilmente implementadas en las instituciones educativas, con el objetivo de generar ahorros económicos, que puedan ser dirigidos a otras áreas sustantivas en su quehacer.

  This article offers the reader a general approach to the use of Free Software (SL) in the educational field, starting from a definition and contextualization of the latter; Then, some keys are presented to understand the concept of "educational technology", quality education and how to achieve it and finally the reader is offered some strategies in Information Technology (IT) that can be easily implemented in educational institutions, with the objective to generate economic savings, which can be directed to other substantive areas in their work.
