    El objetivo de este artículo es examinar la idoneidad del Derecho Internacional Humanitario como marco jurídico de las ocupaciones beligerantes prolongadas. Mediante el método del caso de estudio, centrado en la ocupación de Palestina, trataremos de arrojar luz sobre la aplicabilidad del Derecho Internacional Humanitario a las ocupaciones beligerantes que se dilatan considerablemente en el tiempo y, en su caso, si el factor temporal exige ajustes en la aplicación de este cuerpo normativo. De nuestro estudio se desprende que, si bien el derecho de la ocupación beligerante puede autorizar al ocupante a otorgar un tratamiento jurídico diferenciado para los nacionales del Estado ocupante y los del territorio ocupado, ello no significa que este pueda establecer un sistema de discriminación y opresión a largo plazo, bajo la cobertura de que es solo provisional.

    he purpose of this paper is to examine the suitability of International Humanitarian Law as a legal framework for protracted belligerent occupations. Through a case study focusing on the occupation of Palestine, we will attempt to shed light on the extent to which the provisions of International Humanitarian Law are legally applicable to belligerent occupations that are significantly protracted in time and, if so, whether the temporal element requires adjustments in the application of this body of law. The results of our study suggest that, while the law of belligerent occupation may permit differential legal treatment between nationals of the occupying state and those of the occupied territory, this does not mean that the occupier can establish a system of discrimination and oppression in the long term, under the legal cover of the temporary nature of the occupation
