El trastorno facticio se basa en falsear, inducir o empeorar las patologías para recibir atención médica, sin importar si tienen la enfermedad o no. Esta patología tiene un gran impacto que puede ir desde un gran coste en salud por la policonsulta, las hospitalizaciones y todos los tratamientos innecesarios; la calidad de vida y funcionalidad de estos individuos, hasta el costo de vidas humanas. Esta patología continúa siendo un reto para los clínicos, ya que no existe evidencia suficiente sobre la clínica, etiología, epidemiología y control, dada su dificultad.Debido a todo esto, se ha realizado una revisión bibliográfica para introducir el tema antes de exponer el caso clínico de un varón que padece trastorno facticio.

Factitious disorder is based on falsifying, inducing or worsening pathologies in order to receive medical care, regardless of whether they have the disease or not. This pathology has a great impact that can range from high healthcare costs due to polyconsultations, hospitalisations and all unnecessary treatments; the quality of life and functionality of these individuals, to the cost of human lives. This pathology continues to be a challenge for clinicians, as there is insufficient evidence on the clinical, etiology, epidemiology and control given its difficulty.
Because of this, a literature review has been conducted to introduce the topic before presenting the clinical case of a male suffering from factitious disorder.
