La puesta en valor del pozo de nieve estuvo motivada por el Excelentísimo Ayuntamiento de Cogolludo (Guadalajara), que tuvo la voluntad de revalorizar este bien cultural inmueble para incluirlo en un recorrido turístico y mostrar al visitante esta zona perimetral de la población. Dado que el pozo de nieve es un elemento incluido en el Inventario de Patrimonio Cultural de Castilla-La Mancha, fue indispensable una intervención arqueológica tanto en el exterior como en el interior del mencionado inmueble. El estudio arqueológico fue desarrollado durante los años 2019 y 2020, a partir del cual, además de extraer los limos y elementos espurios del interior del pozo de nieve, se amplió considerablemente la documentación histórico-cultural y arqueológica de esta singular estructura; manifestándose como una de las mejores conservadas de la provincia de Guadalajara.

The enhancement of the snow well was motivated by the Cogolludo Town Hall, because he wanted to revalue this heritage site and conditioning the surrounding area of Cogolludo. Besides that, it was very important to include it in a tourist tour to show the visitors this historical place of the village. Given that the snow well is a structure included in the cultural heritage inventory of Castilla-La Mancha, an archaeological intervention was totally essential both outside and inside the aforementioned building. The archaeological study was developed during the years 2019 and 2020, from which, the inside of the snow well was completely cleaned, and the historical, cultural and archaeological information of this unique structure was considerably expanded. After all, the snow well of Cogolludo is one of the best preserved structure of its kind in the province of Guadalajara.
