  El riesgo es un concepto que invade las sociedades tecnificadas. Sus variadas dimensiones afectan tanto a la intimidad de los individuos como a la evolución de los colectivos y sus relaciones con la economía, la ciencia o el ecologismo. Por otro lado, este riesgo de múltiples caras que hoy concebimos tiene una historia cultural particular. Relatar esta historia brevemente es el objetivo de mi exposición. Me apoyaré en diez nociones para contar los orígenes del término “riesgo” y su significado, determinar su papel en nuestras sociedades, así como las principales derivas a las que ha dado lugar actualmente.

  Risk is a concept that permeates technological societies. Its various dimensions affect the intimacy of individuals as well as the development of collectives and their relations with the economy, science and the environment. On the other hand, this multifaceted risk as we understand it today has a specific cultural history. The aim of my presentation is to briefly recount this history. I will use ten concepts to recount the origins of the concept of “risk”, its meaning, its role in our societies, and the main trends it has given rise to today.
