El presente trabajo analiza la postura política de los obispos en Colombia y, en particular, su relación con los dos partidos tradicionales: el liberal y el conservador, en el periodo histórico comprendido entre 1902 y 1945. La metodología consistió en la revisión de documentos originales producidos por la Conferencia episcopal colombiana y los principales obispos, leídos a la luz de la bibliografía más reciente. De esta forma, se subrayan las diferentes posiciones del episcopado respecto a la acción política, con particular atención a la campaña presidencial de 1930; además, se analizan los cambios que la postura política de los obispos sufrió a lo largo de los cuarenta años objeto de nuestro estudio, periodo en que Colombia pasó de la Hegemonía conservadora (1902-1930) a la República liberal (1930-1945).

In the historical period between 1902 and 1945, Colombia crossed different historical phases in which the political position of the bishops will be analyzed and, in particular, their relationship with the two traditional parties: the liberal and the conservative. This was carried out by analyzing the original documentation produced by the Episcopal Conference of Colombia and the main bishops read in the light of the most recent bibliography. In this way, the different positions of the episcopate regarding political action are underlined with particular attention to the presidential campaign of 1930 and the changes that the political position of the bishops suffered throughout the forty years object of our study in that Colombia went from the conservative Hegemony (1902-1930) to the liberal Republic (1930-1945).
