Resumen de Las técnicas de platería en el Arca Santa

  Se analizan las técnicas artísticas de la platería presentes en el Arca Santa, documentadas con motivo de su reciente intervención. Su desmontaje durante la misma ha permitido una minuciosa observación sin precedentes, arrojando interesantes datos sobre el modo de ejecución de estas técnicas a finales del siglo xi, que ilustran las descripciones contenidas en recetarios de la época, y muy especialmente, las del famoso manual del presbítero Teófilo (siglo xii). Los datos obtenidos no bastan para despejar todas las incógnitas que existen en torno a la fabricación del arca, pero permiten un conocimiento más profundo de la pieza que pretende servir de base a futuras investigaciones.

  the disassembling of the Arca Santa during its recent restoration has enabled an unprecedented and detailed study of the silversmithing techniques present in this medieval Spanish art piece. The documented techniques illustrate the craft recipes and treatises known in the Middle Ages, but more specifically, the silversmithing techniques descripted by Theophilus Presbyter in its well known handbook at the beginning of the 12th century. The evidence collected in this work may not dissipate most of the mysteries surrounding the origin of this arc, but it gives us a more profound knowledge about it which constitutes a solid ground for future studies.
