This work is a brief approach to pictorial representations of the fourth apparition of the Virgin of Guadalupe or “the miracle of the roses”, taking as a starting point the works on this subject painted by Juan Correa. A succinct genesis of this type of representations is addressed and a first outline is proposed on how this theme fell into disuse, being preserved only in the paintings that contain the four apparitions; it will be seen, however, that the initial model of the fourth apparition, who-se main exponent was Juan Correa, lasted within the framework of the four apparitions.
