Resumen de El gran terremoto de Los Andes Venezolanos y las Juntas de Socorro
The present research is about the 1894 earthquake and the Aid or Attendance Board, which were installed with porpose to get and to distribute resources to helps the victims of the catastrophe; it was made with de documentation found in the Archivo General of the Merida state, where a considerable volume of correspondence about this matter is to find out where; oficial papers (gaceta) of the Republic and State were also reviewed, as though the memories and counts which belong to this period. Secondly the documentation of the Febres Cordero Library was consulted in colletions such as 'Hojas Sueltas', regional press collection and historical documents, and as last one, the documentation from the Church Official File of Merida in the following sections: Curatos, Municipal Council (Cabildo), Capitulars Acts and Parrochial Church books.
