El presente trabajo analiza un clásico de la narrativa breve latinoamericana y sugiere una de las posibles lecturas que el texto ofrece. Dicha lectura tendrá como fundamento dos vías muy definidas y complementarias. La primera es el análisis que permite hacer la teoría de los Mundos Posibles y la segunda tiene en cuenta uno de los valores que más apreciaba Julio Cortázar en el lector, nuestra fantasía, delimitada en este caso por el cuento, que permite a las personas participar como lectores-cómplices.

The present work analyzes a classic story of the Latin American brief narrative and suggests one of the possible readings offered by the text. This reading will be based on two defined and complementary approaches. The first one is the analysis that the theory of the Possible Worlds allows us to make, and the second one considers one of the values that Julio Cortázar most appreciated in his reader, our fantasy, delimited in this case by the short story, which lets us take part in it as readers-accomplices.
