  El Pentágono constituye una herramienta universal realizada desde la perspectiva del abordaje integral del paciente con heridas. La idea surge en el año 2017, cuando se realiza la integración de las tres herramientas: TIME, TRIÁNGULO DE LA HERIDA Y HERIDAS DE DIFÍCIL CICATRIZACIÓN. En otra, El PENTÁGONO abarcando, los factores del paciente, factores de la propia herida, factores del profesional sanitario, recursos y factores del tratamiento, los elementos de la herida, lecho, piel perilesional, bordes, edema, signo clínico de patología de fondo y dos medidas terapéuticas trascendentales para lograr la cicatrización, el apoyo y la descarga, preservando como pilar fundamental el concepto, Preparación del Lecho de la Herida
