"Feminae Exempla Virtutes": biografías y noticias de archivo de las benefactoras del Colegio Máximo (Alcalá de Henares) y del Colegio Imperial (Madrid)

    El artículo tiene como objetivo dar a conocer algunas biografías manuscritas e impresas de benefactoras especialmente sensibles a la espiritualidad ignaciana e identificadas en la Biblioteca Histórica Marqués de Valdecilla y en otras instituciones. En paralelo, también se alude a documentos manuscritos femeninos de carácter personal y administrativo, tales como donaciones económicas y/o de bienes. El hallazgo de esta documentación, y el establecimiento de vínculos con antiguos catálogos y bases de datos de diversos archivos y bibliotecas actuales, ha permitido identificar y contextualizar las actuaciones de un grupo muy dinámico de mujeres que vivieron entre los siglos XVI y XVII en la península ibérica. En este sentido, el análisis transversal de las referencias cotejadas aquí proporciona noticias muy relevantes acerca de las dirigidas espirituales de los jesuitas y de su mecenazgo sobre el Colegio Imperial de Madrid y el Colegio Máximo de Alcalá de Henares. Finalmente, el artículo pretende ofrecer datos relevantes para la reflexión en el marco de los estudios de género y patronazgo en la Edad Moderna.

    The article aims to make known some manuscripts and printed biographies of female benefactors especially sensitive to Ignatian spirituality and identified in the Biblioteca Histórica Marqués de Valdecilla and in other institutions. At the same time, I have also analyzed manuscript documents of a personal and administrative nature, such as economic donations and/or donations of goods. The discovery of this documentation, and the establishment of links with old catalogs and inventories of various current archives and libraries, has made it possible to identify and contextualize the actions of a very dynamic group of women who lived between the Sixteenth and Seventeenth centuries in the Iberian Peninsula. In this sense, the cross-sectional analysis of the references collated here provides very relevant news about the Jesuit's Spiritual Direction and the female patronage of the Imperial College of Madrid and the Colegio Máximo de Alcalá de Henares. Finally, the article aims to offer relevant data for reflection in the framework of gender and patronage studies in the Modern Age.
