Uno de los hábitos más importantes para cuidar nuestra salud y prevenir enfermedades es la higiene de manos. Por ello, la realización de una correcta higiene de manos debe comenzar en edades tempranas. Se entiende, pues, que, en esta línea, el contexto familiar en el que las niñas y los niños comienzan a desarrollarse, tiene una especial importancia en la enseñanza e incentivación de este hábito. No obstante, la educación de la higiene de manos debe extenderse más allá del ámbito familiar. Es aquí donde pasan a jugar un papel fundamental los centros educativos, que deberán seguir estimulando y concienciando al alumnado acerca de la importancia de lavarse las manos. Esta editorial versa sobre como esto se esta llevando a cabo actualmente en nuestro entorno.

One of the most important habits to take care of our health and prevent diseases is hand hygiene. Therefore, performing correct hand hygiene must begin at an early age. It is understood, therefore, that, in this line, the family context in which girls and boys begin to develop, has a special importance in teaching and encouraging this habit. However, hand hygiene education must extend beyond the family environment. This is where educational centers begin to play a fundamental role, which must continue to stimulate and raise awareness among students about the importance of washing their hands. This editorial is about how this is currently being carried out in our environment.
