Elaboration of didactic material. From digital design andmanufacturing

    En muchos contextos de nuestro día a día, se ha producido una revolución en la manera de trabajar y resolver las tareas a partir del uso de nuevas tecnologías. Creemos así que, fomentar e implantar su uso en la educación, podría ayudar al profesorado a desarrollar y elaborar materiales didácticos propios e innovadores. Así pues, ¿Por qué no incluir los recursos de diseño y fabricación digital en la Educación Infantil? En la propuesta que se presenta, las tecnologías de diseño y fabricación digital han sido utilizadas para la creación de tres materiales didácticos distintos, adaptados para su uso en el segundo ciclo Educación Infantil. El material elaborado sirve para el aprendizaje del sistema de escritura del antiguo Egipto. El primer material didáctico son unos sellos de estampación hechos de goma Eva, diseñados mediante Photopea y recortados con el plotter de corte Silhouette, con los sellos cada alumno pudo escribir su nombre con el sistema de escritura egipcio a modo de jeroglífico. En segundo lugar se realizaron unos sellos en relieve de los citados glifos con la impresora 3D, para posteriormente escribir con ellos sobre tablas de arcilla. Por último se recortaron unas plantillas de acetato, cortadas también con el plotter de corte, con los mismos motivos egipcios, para realizar una actividad de pintura con esponjas sobre papel reciclado. Dichos materiales didácticos fueron puestos en práctica con 20 alumnos de un aula de Educación Infantil, que se encontraban trabajando en el proyecto de “Egipto”.

    A partir de la puesta en práctica de distintas actividades, se pudo valorar que todos los materiales elaborados eran adecuados y beneficiosos para el alumnado, comprobando su facilidad de creación y uso y la calidad de los resultados

    In many contexts of our daily life, there has been a revolution in the way of working and solving tasksthrough the use of new technologies. Thus, we believe that encouraging and implementing their usein education could help teachers to develop and elaborate their own innovative didactic materials.So, why not include digital design and manufacturing resources in Early Childhood Education? In theproposal presented here, digital design and fabrication technologies have been used to create threedifferent didactic materials, adapted for use in the second cycle of Early Childhood Education. Thematerial developed is used for learning Egyptian hieroglyphics. The first didactic material is a set ofstamps made of foami, designed using Photopea and cut out with the Silhouette cutting plotter. Withthe stamps, each student was able to write his or her name with the Egyptian writing system in the formof hieroglyphics. Secondly, some stamps were made in relief of the aforementioned glyphs with the 3Dprinter, to then write with them on clay slabs. Finally, acetate stencils were cut out, also with the cuttingplotter, with the same Egyptian motifs, to carry out an activity of painting with sponges on recycled paper. These didactic materials were put into practice with 20 students in a classroom of Early ChildhoodEducation, who were working on the “Egypt” project. From the implementation of different activities, itwas possible to assess that all the materials developed were suitable and beneficial for the students,verifying their ease of creation and use and the quality of the results.
