Resumen de Animals: Uma releitura floydiana de Animal Farm

  In 1944, British writer George Orwell published Animal Farm. Through some powerful signs, such as the animal characters, among which the pigs throughout the story transform themselves into humans, and the human artefacts, this article analyses the effect of these signs on the narrative and on the moral-philosophical criticism of this ‘nouvella’ as well as the signs exposed in the album released thirty years after by the British progressive rock band Pink Floyd: Animals.

  Em 1944, o escritor britânico George Orwell publicou Animal Farm, traduzida em português como A Revolução dos Bichos. Através de signos fortes, como os personagens animais, dentre os quais os porcos ao longo da obra transmutam-se em humanos, e os artefatos humanos, este artigo analisa o poder destes signos nos planos narrativo e de crítica moral-filosófica desta ‘nouvella’, assim como os do disco lançado trinta anos depois pela banda de rock progressivo inglesa Pink Floyd: Animals.
