Resumen de A geoconservação no Brasil: panorama das iniciativas institucionais e das discussões sobre a temática em eventos científicos

  Geodiversity plays an important role as a substrate for biodiversity, a source of resources for the development of human societies, or as a guardian of the planet's geological evolution. Brazil keeps in its territory complex records of the geological evolution of the planet, and knowing and conserving the richness of this heritage is a great challenge. This article aims to present a general framework of geoconservation in Brazil based on the main institutional initiatives and the discussion of the theme in scientific events. The methodology was based on the consultation of books, theses, dissertations, articles and websites to list the main institutional initiatives and the consultation and analysis of the annals of the last ten years of four major national events that have addressed the theme of geodiversity and geoconservation in editions by searching the keywords (geodiversity, geoconservation, geological heritage, geoheritage, geotourism, geopark) in the titles, abstracts and keywords of the articles published in the annals of the events. From this analysis, it was possible to perceive a growing interest of the discussed theme. However, the spatial distribution is not yet uniform in Brazil although there are institutional initiatives and the issue is discussed in all regions of the country, and there is still a greater concentration in the Southeast.

  A geodiversidade desempenha importante papel, seja como substrato para biodiversidade, como fonte de recursos para o desenvolvimento das sociedades humanas ou como guardiã da evolução geológica do planeta. O Brasil guarda em seu território complexos registros da evolução geológica do planeta, de modo que conhecer e conservar a riqueza desse patrimônio se constitui como grande desafio. O presente artigo tem por objetivo apresentar um quadro geral da geoconservação no Brasil, tomando como base as principais iniciativas institucionais e a discussão da temática em eventos científicos. A metodologia foi baseada na consulta de livros, teses, dissertações, artigos e sites para elencar as principais iniciativas institucionais e na consulta e análise dos anais, dos últimos dez anos, de quatro grandes eventos nacionais que têm abordado a temática da geodiversidade e geoconservação em suas edições, realizando-se a busca de palavras-chave (geodiversidade, geoconservação, patrimônio geológico, geopatrimônio, geoturismo, geoparque) nos títulos, resumos e palavras-chave dos artigos publicados nos anais dos eventos selecionados. A partir dessa análise, foi possível perceber um crescente interesse da temática em questão. No entanto, a distribuição espacial ainda não é uniforme no território brasileiro, embora existam iniciativas institucionais e se discuta a temática em todas as regiões do país, ainda há uma concentração maior na região Sudeste.
