«Maleït Merengue». Apropant un espai de memòria de la Guerra civil a persones de zones actualment en guerra

    The Noguera Learning Field is a service of the De-partment of Education of the Generalitat de Cata-lunya that carries out, among others, didactic acti-vities with students from schools and institutes in spaces of memory of the Civil War. These in par-ticular are developed especially with compulsory secondary and high school students.In the 2022/2023 academic year, we were invited by the University Center for Tourism, Hospitality and Gastronomy attached to the University of Barcelona (CETT-UB) to participate in the project Representa-tions and experiences of communities involved in war conflicts in the heritage spaces of memory, financed by the Catalan International Peace Institute (ICIP).The challenge before us was twofold; on the one hand to guide the activity through the Merengue and the Trenches and bunkers of Palous (areas of the Battle of the Segre) directing it to adults and not to teenagers, as is usual for us. The other is to address an audience emotionally marked by the ex-perience of war, such as Ukrainian and Russian ci-tizens.The result of the experience was enormously enric-hing and meant that many doubts, certainties and uncertainties surfaced that allow us to reorient our usual work in this space, which due to its charac-teristics allows us to develop activities oriented to the principles of democratic memory; truth, justice and reparation.

    El Camp d’Aprenentatge de la Noguera és un servei del Departament d’Educació de la Generalitat de Catalunya que realitza, entre d’altres, activitats didàctiques amb alumnat d‘escoles i instituts en espais de memòria de la Guerra civil. Aquestes en concret es desenvolupen especialment amb alumnat d’educació secundària obligatòria i batxillerat.El curs 2022/2023 vam ser convidats pel Centre Universitari de Turisme, Hoteleria i Gastronomia adscrit a la Universitat de Barcelona (CETT-UB) a participar en el projecte Representacions i experiències de les comunitats implicades en conflictes bèl·lics en els espais patrimonials de memòria, finançat per l’Institut Català Internacional de la Pau (ICIP). El repte que se’ns plantejava era doble; per un costat guiar l’activitat pel Merengue i les Trinxeres i búnquers de Palous (espais de la Batalla del Segre) dirigint-la a adults i no pas a adolescents, com ens és habitual. L’altre, dirigir-nos a un públic emotivament molt marcat per la vivència de la guerra, com són ciutadanes i ciutadans ucraïnesos i russos.El resultat de l’experiència va ser enormement enriquidor i va suposar que afloressin molts dubtes, certeses i incerteses que ens permeten reorientar la nostra tasca habitual en aquest espai, que per les seves característiques ens permet desenvolupar activitats orientades als principis de la memòria democràtica; veritat, justícia i reparació.
