    El capítulo discute brevemente algunos aportes teóricos y se recurre a la he-rramienta del “espacio de los movimientos”, pues como demanda implica, pero trasciende a las organizaciones directamente vinculadas con derechos huma-nos y de hecho se fundamenta que la fortaleza está en transversalizar a diversos colectivos. En ese marco, se apela a una tipología de recursos utilizados en un sentido próximo a Bourdieu y en particular se maneja como significativo para el avance local, eventos más allá de fronteras. Si bien se mencionan los recurrentes bloqueos e intentos de cierre del tema desde el campo político desde 1985, el trabajo analiza especialmente lo que ocurrió en el período de los tres gobiernos del Frente Amplio.Sin duda comparativamente fue entonces cuando se dieron los mayores avances en cuanto a identificación de restos de desaparecidos y pro-cesamientos de involucrados en crímenes de lesa humanidad, pero se examina que igualmente constituyó un período con muchos frenos y contradicciones. Considerando diversas expresiones del poder militar, se concluye que la temáti-ca desnuda como pocas la presencia activa de este poder y desestabiliza el mito recurrente de la “excepcionalidad” uruguaya

    Considering other collective expressions, the struggles for memory and human rights may have been socially relegated to a secondary place as an issue linked to the past. This paper tries to establish why it is significant to rescue them acade-mically and politically since, in addition to their intrinsic importance, they open other equally key discussions for the region. In order to address this process in Uruguay, some theoretical contributions are briefly discussed and the tool of the “space of movements” is used, since as a demand it implies but transcends or-ganizations directly linked to human rights and in fact it is based that the stren-gth is in mainstreaming diverse groups. Within this framework. we appeal to a typology of resources used in a perspective close to Bourdieu and in particular it is handled as significant for local advance, events beyond borders. Although the recurrent blockades and attempts to close the issue from the political field since 1985 are mentioned, the work especially analyzes what happened in the period of the three governments of the Frente Amplio. Undoubtedly, compara-tively, it was then that the greatest advances were made in terms of identifying the remains of the disappeared and prosecuting those involved in crimes against humanity, but it is examined that it also constituted a period with many obs-tacles and contradictions. Considering various expressions of military power, we conclude that the theme uncovers the active presence of this power like few others and destabilizes the recurring myth of the Uruguayan “exceptionality”
