Resumen de “Rússia de mil anos”: espectros da “Grande Guerra Patriótica” nos discursos presidenciais de Vladimir Putin para o Dia da Vitória (2014-2022)

World War II is still a subject of disputes today. In Russia, it even has another name: “Great Patriotic War”. As soon as the war in Ukraine began in 2022, the interwar period in the Soviet Union was also evoked in comparisons, justifications, and controversies between the main actors involved. Notin frequently, Vladimir Putin was associated with 20th century leaders ranging from the left to the extreme right, which makes it difficult to analyze. Precisely for this reason, the purpose of this article is to investigate how the specters – in Ethan Kleinberg's sense – of the “Great Patriotic War” are constructed in Putin's official speeches. To this end, 23 speeches given at Victory Celebration (May 9) between the beginning of tensions with Ukraine, in 2014, and the out break of war, in 2022 were analyzed.

A Segunda Guerra Mundial é ainda hoje um objeto de disputas. Na Rússia, ela até possui outra denominação: “Grande Guerra Patriótica”. Assim que começou a guerra na Ucrânia em 2022, o período do entre guerras na União Soviética também foi evocado em comparações, justificativas e polêmicas entre os envolvidos. Não raro, Vladimir Putin foi associado a líderes do século XX que vão da esquerda até a extrema direita, dificultando as possibilidades de compreendê-lo. Por isso, o objetivo deste artigo é investigar como os espectros – conforme Ethan Kleinberg – da “Grande Guerra Patriótica” são construídos nos discursos oficiais de Putin. Para tanto, foram analisados 23 discursos proferidos nas celebrações do Dia da Vitória (9 de maio) entre o início das tensões com a Ucrânia, em 2014, e a eclosão da guerra, em 2022.
