Resumen de La guerra del pacífico y los ayllus: Una lectura de la pintura mural del baptisterio de Sabaya

El artículo presenta una lectura de la pintura mural del baptisterio que los ayllus de Sabaya realizaron en 1892; así, se aproxima a la visión histórica y regional que tenían los ayllus a finales del siglo XIX. La pintura expresa la organización territorial de los ayllus, su jerarquía y su percepción religiosa del espacio. Asimismo, debido a que su territorio se extendía hacia la vertiente occidental de la cordillera, muestra que vivieron de manera particular la pérdida de sus territorios como consecuencia de la Guerra del Pacífico.

The article presents a reading of the mural painted on the wall of the baptistery that was created by the ayllus of Sabaya in 1892 to recover a historic and regional vision of the ayllus in the late 19th century. The painting expresses the territorial organization of the ayllus, their hierarchy and religious perception of space. Additionally, as their territory extended to the western slopes of the Andes, it shows the particular way that they experienced the loss of their territories as a result of the War of the Pacific.
