    Nos encontramos ante un trabajo imprescindible para la reconstrucción y la relectura del ensayo hispanoamericano, que amplía las fronteras de los estudios no sólo en habla hispana al integrar a un grupo de mujeres ensayistas peruanas que fue fundamental en el diseño de una América en construcción a finales del siglo XIX. Es importante señalar que, pese a que el texto de análisis puede resultar en ocasiones árido para el lector común, es de enorme interés en el campo de la investigación, pues abunda en referencias constantes y en datos actualizados y fidedignos. Tanto la impecable labor bibliográfica y de archivo, como la propuesta de lectura/interpretación de los textos sobre la base de una red de relaciones vitales, ideológicas y artísticas, dan cuenta de un conocimiento profundo de la autora del periodo estudiado, que es un claro aporte para cualquier estudio sobre el ensayo en general y el ensayo hispanoamericano.

    We are facing an essential work for the reconstruction and rereading of the Spanish-American essay, which expands the borders of studies not only in Spanish by integrating a group of Peruvian women essayists who were fundamental in the design of an America under construction at the end of the 19th century. It is important to point out that, even though the analysis text can sometimes be dry for the common reader, it is of enormous interest in the field of research, since it abounds in constant references and updated and reliable data. Both the impeccable bibliographical and archival work, as well as the proposed reading/interpretation of the texts based on a network of vital, ideological and artistic relationships, show the author's in-depth knowledge of the period studied, which is a clear contribution for any study on the essay in general and the Hispanic American essay.
