Resumen de Poder, violencia y autoridad: Hannah Arendt en Latinoamérica

En este trabajo me propongo explorar las relaciones bajo las cuales se articulan las nociones de poder, autoridad, Estado, violencia y democracia. Para ello, me baso en algunas distinciones que ha hecho Hannah Arendt e intento aplicarlas a los contextos latinoamericanos. Intento mostrar que el poder no tiene su fundamento en la violencia sino en la autoridad. Así, cuando un Estado ha fracasado en sus funciones, debe recuperar la confianza y la autoridad a través de medios distintos que la violencia.

My main focus is to explore the relations between power, authority, State, violence and democracy. I make some distinctions based on the work of Hannah Arendt and try to apply them to Latin American contexts. The thesis that I aim to establish is that power is fundamentally based not in violence but in authority. Therefore, when the State has failed in its functions of ordering society, it must recover confidence and authority with means other than violence.
