In this paper a new species of Calanoid Copepod named Diaixis durani n. sp. to honor M. Durán, Director of the Oceanographic Laboratory of Palma de Mallorca (Balearic Islands) is described.
It was found in Ria de Arosa (NW Spain) in a plankton sample. But it is a bottom dweller, living on or in the vicinity of sand and muddy bottom at 9 meters depth and it could only be taken eventually in the plankton net.
