    The article presents the results and the description of the implementation process of the extension project approved in PAEX Notice nº 01/2020 of the State University of Minas Gerais (UEMG). The purpose of the project was to integrate the University in the construction of the Municipal Po-licy for Sustainable Food and Nutritional Security (SANS) in a medium-sized city in the midwest of Minas Gerais. The policy was designed in a dialogued manner by the Intersectoral Chamber for Sustainable Food and Nutritional Security (Caisans). The methodological proposal is based on the constructivist paradigm, inspired by the idea that there are many socially constructed realities. The elaboration of the Municipal SANS Plan involved the Interinstitutional Commission created by the Municipal Council for Sustainable Food and Nutritional Security of Divinópolis (Comseans), under the coordination of the University. The result of the project was the approval of the Municipal SANS Plan and the organization of actions at implementing the plan in the municipality, being today a regional reference.

    Neste artigo, constam os resultados e a descrição do processo de implantação do projeto de extensão aprovado no Edital PAEX nº 01/2020 da Universidade do Estado de Minas Gerais (UEMG). O propósito do projeto foi integrar a Universidade na construção da Política Municipal de Segurança Alimentar e Nutricional Sustentável (SANS) em uma cidade de médio porte no Centro-Oeste Mineiro. A política foi concebida de forma dialogada pela Câmara Intersetorial de Segurança Alimentar e Nutricional Sustentável (Caisans). A proposta metodológica se sustenta no paradigma construtivista, inspirado na ideia de que existem muitas realidades socialmente construídas. A elaboração do Plano Municipal de SANS envolveu a Comissão Interinstitucional criada pelo Conselho Municipal de Segurança Alimentar e Nutricional Sustentável de Divinópolis (Comseans), sob coordenação da Universidade. O resultado do projeto foi a aprovação do Plano Municipal de SANS e a organização das ações voltadas à execução do plano no município, hoje referência regional.
