Treatments used on teeth of children affected by molar incisor Hypomineralization, a systematic review

    La hipomineralización es cada día más frecuente, si se evidencian molares que contengan ruptura del esmalte en los pacientes pediátricos y presentan exposición dentinaria causada por MIH, es necesario que los pacientes lleven algún tratamiento para manejar este patógeno5. Uno de los objetivos de esta revisión es dar a conocer los diferentes tratamientos que facilitan la restauración y el mantenimiento de una salud bucodental adecuada, afectadas por MIH. Métodos: Los estudios se analizaron desde 2017 hasta 2022, estos encontrados en Pubmed, Scopus, Ebsco, Proquest y Science Direct. Para realizar la dirección sistemática se siguieron las directrices PRISMA, la evolución de la calidad, y el riesgo de sesgo se realizó considerando los criterios expuestos en la herramienta National Heart Lung and Blood Institute – NHLBI. Resultados: Después de aplicar las palabras clave para la búsqueda, se encontraron 1498 artículos, en los cuáles se aplicaron criterios de exclusión e inclusión, duplicado, además, pasaron por diferentes filtros donde se evaluaron 171 y de ellos se eligieron 8. Por consiguiente, los datos obtenidos de estos artículos se ordenaron para la extracción de información, y se siguió los estándares de estudio tal como metodología y resultados. Conclusión: Los resultados obtenidos de los 8 artículos demuestran los diferentes tratamientos utilizados en los últimos 5 años para tratar la hipomineralización incisivo-molar, aun así, se necesitan más estudios para investigar más tratamientos, protocolos clínicos, terapéuticas, utilizadas en pacientes con MIH en los últimos 5 años.

    Hypomineralization is becoming more frequent every day. If molars containing enamel rupture are found in pediatric patients and present dentin exposure caused by MIH, it is necessary for patients to undergo some treatment to manage this pathogen (5). One of the objectives of this review is to present the different treatments that facilitate the restoration and maintenance of adequate oral health, affected by MIH. Methods: The studies were analyzed from 2017 to 2022, these found in Pubmed, Scopus, Ebsco, Proquest and Science Direct. To carry out the systematic direction, the PRISMA guidelines were followed, the evolution of quality, and the risk of bias was carried out considering the criteria set forth in the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute – NHLBI tool. Results: After applying the keywords for the search, 1498 articles were found, in which exclusion and inclusion criteria were applied, duplicated, in addition, they passed through different filters where 171 were evaluated and 8 of them were chosen. Therefore, The data obtained from these articles were ordered for the extraction of information, and the study standards such as methodology and results were followed. Conclusion: The results obtained from the 8 articles demonstrate the different treatments used in the last 5 years to treat molar-incisor hypomineralization, even so, more studies are needed to investigate more treatments, clinical protocols, therapeutics, used in patients with MIH in the last 5 years.
