The Cuillas del Valle succession from the northern side of Páramo de La Lora (Cantabria and Palencia) has revealed sedimentary characteristics of continental environments. The analysis of facies and sedimentary environments suggest the initial presence of a braided fluvial system, filling an incised valley, followed by a more widespread meanderig fluvial system. 80th depositional systems, along with the sharp surface separating them and the erosional surfaces at the base and top of the succession interpreted as allocyclic, define a basic deposicional sequence. The sequence is attributed a tectonic origin without developing angular unconformity.
