“Lar doce lar” – A cozinha como centro afetivo da casa

    Originally, the house appears as a means of survival, gaining over time other significant dimensions, becoming also a place of shelter, affection, warmth, peace, and conviviality; “our corner in the world”.

    From the structure of a house, the kitchen can be understood as an motional center, as it also consists of a space for social relations and carries with it other dimensions of meaning. Through a theoretical reflection, this article addresses the affective dimension of the relationships we have with houses. Thereby, through the symbolic relationship we have with food, it intends to examine the kitchen as part of our experienced space. In this way, it is noticeable that the symbolic aspects of food also consist in a possibility of reflection on the spatial relationship that we develop with the house since they also resignify our experience and the links established with the place

    Inicialmente, a casa surge como um meio de sobrevivência e, com o passar do tempo, ganha outras dimensões significativas, tornando-se também local de abrigo, afeto, aconchego, paz e convívio, o “nosso canto no mundo”. De sua estrutura, a cozinha pode ser vislumbrada como o centro afetivo da casa, ao consistir também em espaço de relações sociais e carregar em si outras dimensões de significado. Através de uma reflexão teórica sobre as relações que construímos com a casa, no presente artigo abordamos sua dimensão afetiva através da relação simbólica que possuímos com a comida, pensando a cozinha como espaço vivenciado. Deste modo foi possível visualizar que os aspectos simbólicos da comida se configuram também em uma possibilidade de reflexão sobre a relação espacial que desenvolvemos com a casa, visto que estes também ressignificam nossa experiência e os vínculos com o lugar.
